A whole lot of nothing

I got nothing for you today on Life In Positudiness ...
Because, This is how my day went:
10am - going to my gym which I just joined to take my very 1st class "dance it off": so pumped!
10:30 - class starts! so happy to be here, this is great! I'm finally working out and doing something for myself!! YEAH!
11:00 - sweating, working my butt off and loving it! Woohoo, you go girl!
11:13 - last combination, reminds me of my dance classes: I'm kicking my left leg front and back while jumping on the right leg, now we are turning to do it on the other side. And front and jump and .... My toes kissed the floor and before I could even be aware of what was happening... Bam!! My butt hits the ground.

Summer Challenge // Defi de l'Ete

I've spent hours trying to write this post, looking for the right words to use, trying to talk about some of my feelings, and open up, and finally I was done, happy about it... Then, somehow, it all disappeared... How I don't like when this happens!... :(
Now, it's getting late, and I don't have the courage to try rewriting it all, so to keep it quick and simple, I've been tired of not putting myself and my project first.  I always do things that have to be done, and keep the things that matter to me the most for last, sometimes not having the energy or time to do them anymore.  It has made me pretty unhappy, I need change...

Jersey Shore ~ Update

Back in February, I went down to the Jersey Shore to see what Hurricane Sandy had done there...
{You can read about it HERE}
It was pretty sad, but it did not compare to the damages I saw in the beginning of this month.

Words can't explain how saddening this was.
Here are some photos...

Making a Box

I needed a box for some baking supplies.  I wanted a pretty one and one that fit perfectly in the cabinet it was going to go into.  I looked around, but no luck.  None of the boxes I owned could fit in the cabinet.  So I had to find a cardboard box, and I got this one ~perfect size!~.  I decided to transform it into a pretty baking supplies box!

Need:

- A cardboard box
- A pair of scissors ~or box cutter~
- Some shelf liner ~the sticky kind is the best~
- Some packaging tape ~its width is great for this project~

The Rachael Ray Show

What an awesome time I had with my best girlfriends at the filming of
The Rachael Ray Show!!!

A few months ago I started watching the show regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays ~on the days I babysit and as the baby is taking his morning nap~.  I really like watching it, it's entertaining, and I love Rachael's cooking!!  She is of course a great cook and a fun person!  So, secretly, I started thinking about taking part in the audience and about how cool it would be there.  Of course, I would not have gone by myself, and since I don't have many friends here, and anyone I know is working during the day I thought I would never go!!

But when my girlfriends told me they wanted to come visit me from France, I right away thought about going there with them!  So, I registered us online and crossed my fingers that there would be room for us to go during their stay in the NJ/NY area.  I know how busy the filming of the show is, and it can be pretty long until people get tickets...
A few days after my submission, I received an email from the show's crew informing me that I and my guests had be selected to be audience members!!! AAAHHH!!!! I was so psyched!  It did say though that the tickets, which are given right outside the studio when we get in-line, would be based on a first come first serve, so we were not 100% guaranteed to actually get in until the day of.

Yesterday morning, D-Day, we woke up to this...

Outdoor Fixings - The front

After our awesome night with our friends, we were all pumped up and decided to do even more outside work to extra beautify this house!
I also was really inspired by my Mom, who had called me the day before and told me how much work she had done in her yard and how gratifying it was to see a nice and clean space.

Our front yard, was in great need of some cleaning!
It still had leaves from last Fall...

So, I put my gloves on, and out I went on a weeding journey!! ;)
I cannot stand bugs of any kind ~except Ladybugs~ so gloves were a must!!! Argh, just thinking about tiny crawling, jumping, flying things give my goosebumps!

Outdoor Fixings - The deck

My husband and I had a fabulous weekend!  We were super busy, but it all was really gratifying, satisfying and much different than usual, in a great way!

We decided that after living in this house for 4 months already ~and since the first warmer days had arrived~ it was way time to have our friends over!!
Saturday night we invited my Hubby's childhood friends with their wives/girlfriends for a mini house warming party, and Sunday we had his parents and one of the brothers and his fiancee over.  It really was such a good experience to finally have people over and show our home.
Plus tonight, 2 of my best friends from the Au Pair time are coming from France to visit us ~woohoo!!! so excited!!!~.
So, with all this company coming to us, we really had to get the house done!!

Since the previous weekend we had rearranged the whole house ~we moved around 3 rooms out of 4 on the first floor!~ it was now time to take care of our house from the outside.
In the back, we power-washed the deck.  It was filled with moss and dirt.  We felt uncomfortable going on it, and I was getting a bit grossed out by the fact that we would be bringing dirt onto the carpet ~which is in the room when we first come in the house from the deck (really don't like that, but gotta deal with it...)~

Turkey for Breakfast!

No... We didn't actually eat turkey for breakfast!
As we started our day, our cat Lily was as usual on her windowsill, but she was barking ~yes, our cat barks, well in her own way!~  So Hubby and I approached the window to see what kind of bird it could be, and... wow what a surprise!!  These were REALLY BIG birds!!!

Funtastic Friday!

Happy Friday Everyone!

I have decided that Fridays would be my special day.  I am starting a challenge where every Friday I will make sure that I have some FUN, whether it is working on a special project or doing something else that stands out of my ordinary routine.

No matter what nor how much chores I have to do on that day, I strongly intend on keeping aside some time for some well deserved "me time"!  What do you think?  Is it doable?!
We all need to think about ourselves once in a while, and what a great way to get ready for the weekend!

So... Who is with me?!!!

Today is a snow day, I guess I'll stay in!

I love looking at snowy landscape, but don't quite feel comfortable walking outside on slippery sidewalks nor getting in my car!

I am going to get onto a crafty project in the warmth of my home!

What will you do today on this Funtastic Friday??!!

2 months anniversary!

My Hubby is the best!!

He texted me on his way home from work to ask me if he could cook dinner tonight ~ a first since we've been living in this house, so I was really happy and excited!

Then, he came home with fresh meat, olives, a baguette, and ... this beautiful bouquet.
He gave it to me saying "Happy Two Months"!!
~I know, it's only been two months, but we are really excited about being married, so each month means a lot to us!~

I was so embarrassed...
I had completely forgotten it was our wedding anniversary...
That's because of silly February with only 28 days and NO 29th!!! It tricked me, I didn't see the number 29, so I didn't even think about it!

Thank you so much Hubby! I love you!

To a new beginning

Here I am!! Finally...
I have dreamed of this day for so long!

I am not a writer, and I don't think I am great at it, but funny as it may be, I dream of living the life of one of them! Well... to some degree that is! ;) I sometimes day dream that I am sitting at a tiny round table in a coffee shop, with my laptop in front of me. It's Fall outside, and it starts to get colder. The cozy coffee shop is filled with the warm smell of coffee beans roasted in pumpkin spice ~ my favorite flavored coffee! ~ As I am slowly sipping my coffee, I glance at my surroundings, waiting for an inspiration. Then, there it is... The words start dancing in my mind, and so I start typing on my little keyboard.
